Welcome
The idea was simple: what if we all told the story instead of just me?
If you write, you'll have some sense of why the idea came to me; why it's so appealing and why I still have no sense whether it will work. Even with that undercurrent of the unknown, though, I went ahead and created a place where we could all tell the story. A place where We Are Story.
Story is Everything
So, what is We Are Story? Put simply it is a narrative that anyone can write, and that no one voice can dominate. It is a story, not just random conceit and whatever is important to any one writer.
It's more than that, though.
We Are Story is a community of writers who want to help each other improve and write their best work as consistently as possible. That's why everything can be rated, and comments can be made everywhere. The aim? Simple, spur each other on to greatness and to telling a great story. Let's leave each other hooks and options, ideas and connections; let's ask each other questions and give each other answers. Think of it as written improv.
Get Started
There are full instructions over on the right, but in a nutshell, the story is told in 'pods' (5000 character sections - about 500 words), booked via a reservation queue. Each reserved pod has a 5 day deadline - I've known too many months of stretching deadlines and "I'll write when I get past this really important stuff that's just popped up".
I won't say any more about the how, except to encourage you to join the community and then join me in telling the story. Together, We Are Story.
